NEW RENAISSANCE

For curators & cultural partners / New Renaissance

Bring people and ideas into conversation.

New Renaissance gives curators, advisors and cultural partners a place to discover artists, understand their practice and develop relationships around a project. Begin with the work, then build a clear conversation about what could happen together.

Core participation is free. Membership is currently by invitation, for adults aged 18 and over.

Inside the community

A place to take part.

01

Research beyond a single image.

Explore artworks, writing and projects together. Follow the questions an artist is working through and the context they choose to share, so an introduction can start with a real point of connection.

02

Share a useful opportunity.

Describe the purpose of a project, who it is for and the contribution you need. Be clear about location, dates, selection, payment or costs, and the next step. Specific information helps artists decide whether an opportunity fits.

03

Develop relationships across disciplines.

Meet artists, collectors and cultural participants whose perspectives can contribute to a project. For an institutional partnership, commission or wider cultural brief, our advisory team can discuss a separate engagement.

Meet the practice behind the profile.

Read public perspectives from our Journal and discover the profiles and work that members choose to share beyond the network.

A useful beginning

Start with a clear intention.

  1. 01

    Describe your context.

Introduce your practice or organization, the subjects you work with and the kinds of projects you are developing. A clear profile helps people understand why you are reaching out.

  2. 02

    Look closely before making contact.

Read an artist’s work in its own context. In your introduction, reference a specific piece or idea and explain its relationship to your project.

  3. 03

    Make the next step concrete.

Share a short brief with purpose, roles, timing and expectations. Agree responsibilities directly before treating an initial conversation as a confirmed collaboration.
