Politics & Religion

“Politics & Religion” (2024) documents a site in Fayette County, IL that I came upon a few years ago. As you can see, it has a building that was once used to serve as a place of Christian worship with a sign in front of it showing it now serves as a polling place. When the pilgrims landed on Plymouth Rock back in 1620, their desire was to have religious freedom in this "New World." In this year (2026) of our country's Semiquincentennial, it's important to reflect on the past and the current state of the Union. Has politics become the new religion of the USA?
