Reflection of the Past

Erected in 1876 in Clinton County, IL, the structure you see in this photograph, "Reflection of the Past" (2024), is where the Hopewell Methodist Church once congregated. Now it appears to simply stand as a reminder of what was; with an engraved stone in front to commemorate it.

This piece won First Place (Photography Division) in the 2024 Illinois Art League Membership Show at the Time Gallery in East Peoria, IL. It was juried into the 2025 Locality Biennial Exhibition at Artspace 304 in Carbondale, IL. This photograph was also juried into the 2025 Shrode Photography Competition and Exhibit at the Shrode Art Center at Cedarhurst Center for the Arts in Mount Vernon, IL.
