New Renaissance
New Renaissance: Where Creative People Connect

A place for artists, collectors, curators and curious minds to share work, discover one another and build relationships around art and culture.
A painting can introduce you to an artist. A journal entry can open a conversation. A shared interest can become the beginning of a collaboration. New Renaissance gives these encounters a place to happen, bringing the work people make closer to the people who care about it.
Founded by artist Joe Taveras, with Jess Mouawad as Founding Strategic Partner, New Renaissance grows from a belief that culture develops through participation: making things, sharing ideas, paying attention and building relationships. The platform brings that belief into everyday creative life.
A home for your creative life
Your profile brings together the different parts of what you do. Share artworks, publish journal entries, introduce a project or gather works into a collection. Someone discovering you can spend time with your practice and see how its different parts connect.
For an artist, that might mean showing a finished painting alongside a reflection on its making. For a curator, it might be an idea for an exhibition. For a collector, it could be a collection that reveals a particular interest. Each contribution gives another person a way into your world.

Follow your curiosity
Explore brings people, art, journals, events and projects into view. You can move from something that catches your eye to the person behind it, follow their work, or save a contribution to return to later.
The invitation is to look beyond what you already know. Spend time with an unfamiliar practice. Read someone’s perspective. Discover a project outside your usual circle. A useful connection can begin with a small moment of curiosity.

Make room for a conversation
Sharing is the start of an exchange. Comments and messages give members ways to ask questions, offer a thoughtful response and get to know one another. An artwork has a person behind it; a project has a process, a context and an ambition worth understanding.
The community includes people who make, collect, curate and support culture, as well as those who simply want to become more involved. You can arrive with a developed practice, an idea in progress or a desire to discover something new.
What is Purple?
Purple is the platform’s system for recognising participation. Members can earn Purple through contributions and activity within the community, and use it in supported interactions across New Renaissance. It gives participation a visible place in the experience, alongside the work and relationships members are building.
Find your way in
Membership is currently by invitation. An existing member can invite you to join; if you do not have an invitation, add your name to the waitlist.
Once inside, begin with an introduction. Add a profile image, share something you are making or thinking about, and find someone whose work you want to follow. The community takes shape through what each person brings.
Bring what you’re making. Explore what moves you. Meet someone whose perspective opens something new.
