Mauricio Carrasco

Mauricio Carrasco is a Mexican American artist from Lovington, New Mexico, now based in Dallas, Texas. With a BFA in Fashion Merchandising from the Art Institute of Dallas, Carrasco’s creative path has been shaped by his time as a runway stylist — experiences that deeply influenced his understanding of visual storytelling and identity. Mentored by the painter Mikhail Dimov of Emirtage Art Academy. Carrasco has since transitioned into fine art as a way to explore themes that fashion couldn’t contain: faith, survival, grace, and internal reckoning. His work wrestles with the collision of brokenness and redemption — love and hatred locked in a brutal dance. Through raw figures, layered text, and chaotic landscapes, Carrasco explores the tension of being both wounded and chosen. His pieces act as modern psalms: unflinching in honesty, relentless in hope.
